Hot 100 Top 40: Week of December 5, 2020 - BTS (1)

BTS (1)
Hey guys! Billboard recently released their Hot 100 songs of 2020 list, so my Year-End post of that should be out sometime this month. I honestly have no clue how long it's gonna take. My weekly posts are always first priority, though. We had an extremely active week this week. Mostly just because of more Christmas songs moving in. Also, you'll notice that for all of the Christmas songs I have the number of weeks at ?. That should change next week. I just have to figure it out and I haven't found the time yet. Other than the Christmas songs, there were also albums by Megan Thee Stallion, BTS and Morgan Wallen, so you'll see songs from all of those artists on this post. Here's the exits.

#1: Life Goes On - BTS (DEBUT) [1st week at #1] {1 week}

Last Year's #1: Circles - Post Malone [2/3 weeks at #1]

So the first returning Christmas song this week is It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year by Andy Williams. Just one thing you should know about me: I get sick of Christmas songs pretty quickly. But this is definitely good for the most part. It's not one of the songs that has a million covers and gets played over and over again. Andy Williams sounds good here and overall, this is just a fun and enjoyable song.

Next is Jingle Bell Rock by Bobby Helms. This version of this song isn't my favourite, but the song as a whole is good. I much prefer it when artists cover it and give it a tiny bit more of a rock vibe, but this is definitely still enjoyable. Yeah, not much else to say here.

So I mentioned earlier that Morgan Wallen released an album, so you'll see the effects of that here, as his newest single from it, Somebody's Problem. I don't like Morgan Wallen that much. This song isn't bad, like More Than My Hometown, but it's not bad. He doesn't sound too good here and the song's kind of forgettable, but it's still not bad.

BTS pop up next and this first song, Stay, is my favourite from the tracks from BE that debuted this week. It's nowhere near as good as songs like Dynamite or Make It Right (featuring Lauv), but it's definitely good. It's got a little bit of EDM vibe here, which I really like. I think the drop was pretty well-done and although their voices aren't great and I understand at all what they're saying, it's still good.

Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree by Brenda Lee is the final Christmas song that re-entered this week. This song gets super annoying super quickly. Last week I would have had it in blue, but this week it's in pink. Nothing about it's bad, it's just kind of annoying.

A couple of really bad songs from albums are next, starting with Blue & Grey by BTS. I'm not sure who thought these guys doing a ballad was a good idea, but it really wasn't. None of them have very good voices and the only reason I liked Dynamite so much was because of how catchy it was. The production here is non-existent and none of them sound good here. Yeah, this is really really bad.

Megan Thee Stallion whyyyyyyyy. This next song is called Body and it's sooooo baaaad. Let me just copy/paste a few lines from the chorus here: "Body-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody/Ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody (Mwah)/Body-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody/Ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody". She sounds fine in the rest of the song but the production's kind of boring anyways and that chorus is so annoying! Yeah, I really hope this isn't a hit.

I reviewed this song last week, Monster by Justin Bieber and Shawn Mendes. Shawn's album, Wonder is out today and I haven't listened to it, but I definitely expect good things from this track. Both artists sound fantastic here and they blend super well. The production here is kind of pop-rock and I love it. Fantastic song, I hope it's a big hit.

Yeah, so something dethroned Mood this week. It was Life Goes On by BTS and it debuted at #1 this week. None of the guys sound that good here and it's extremely forgettable. I hope it drops a lot in the coming weeks.

Best Debut: Monster - Shawn Mendes/Justin Bieber

Biggest Drop: Watermelon Sugar - Harry Styles (-15): This only dropped so much because of the huge number of entrants, but I don't care that it dropped anyways.

Biggest Jump: All I Want for Christmas Is You - Mariah Carey (+15): Ahhhh, this is gonna hit #1 again isn't it? I really hope it doesn't, because some other songs deserve to be there rather than this.

Ain't Always The Cowboy - Jon Pardi (#61) [3]
Don't Stop - Megan Thee Stallion/Young Thug (#62) [2; 2nd time*]

A bunch of songs left the Top 40 and dropped down to On the Verge this week. Pretty Heart, Happy Anywhere, Better Together, Love You Like I Used To, Starting Over, Forever After All and HOLIDAY. The only two that I'm sad about are Love You Like I Used To and HOLIDAY.

A couple songs also just re-entered On the Verge this week, 7 Summers and Don't Stop, both just due to album releases.

Our first debut is a song by Morgan Wallen, Still Goin Down. He really doesn't sound good here and the song as a whole is super forgettable and the production's really uninteresting.

Our only other debut this week is from Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa. I talked about this last week and I'm kinda surprised that it didn't debut in the Top 40. Anyways, I don't think there's too much to say about this that I haven't already said. Miley doesn't sound fantastic with the production, but Dua does. That's pretty much the entire song.

Best Debut: Prisoner - Miley Cyrus/Dua Lipa

Literally nothing to talk about this week except for the exits.

Our Top 40 exits were (other than the ones I've already talked about): What You Know Bout Love by Pop Smoke and Drankin N Smokin by Future and Lil Uzi Vert. It sucks that WYKBL isn't doing as well as Pop Smoke's other songs, but it's not as good, so it makes sense. As for Drankin N Smokin, I never expected it to stick around.

As for On the Verge, we lost pov by Ariana Grande, all the Future and Lil Uzi Vert songs, you broke me first by Tate McRae, Mr. Right Now by 21 Savage, Metro Boomin and Drake, Iris by Phoebe Bridgers and Maggie Rogers, FRANCHISE by Travis Scott, Young Thug and M.I.A., my ex's best friend by Machine Gun Kelly and blackbear, Took Her To The O by King Von and B.S. by Jhené Aiko and H.E.R.. The only ones I'm not sad about are Took Her To The O, B.S. and all of the Pluto x Baby Pluto songs.

Hot 100 Top 40: Week of October 17, 2020 - Jawsh 685/Jason Derulo/BTS (1)

Jawsh 685/Jason Derulo/BTS (1)
So yeah, there's a new #1, but there was a lot of movement other than that too. There was an album bomb from 21 Savage and Metro Boomin with their new album SAVAGE MODE II, so you'll see most of those songs here and a song from 1977 re-entered the Hot 100 at #21... I'll explain what that's about later too. But first, I'm gonna do more reveals for the 2019 Ultimate Rank on Sunday, so if you're not Scott or Tyler, you still need to do the Community Rankings, which you'll find the link for here. Anyways, here's the whopping list of exits for this week.

Last Year's #1: HIGHEST IN THE ROOM - Travis Scott [1/1 week at #1]

So the first song making a surprising debut here at #37 is Fallin' by Why Don't We. This is actually their first entry on the Hot 100, which is great since this is one of my favourite songs from them. (Aside from I Don't Belong In This Club with Macklemore which is just fantastic and hilarious. Check it out.) Anyways, this song literally just sounds really epic... and I use that non-ironically here, yes, I managed to do that. All the guys sound really good here and the instrumentation is really good. The drums at the beginning are a bit much, but other than that, this is a great song.

So my opinion on SAVAGE MODE II? It was alright. Most of the songs were good, but they all kind of sounded the same and nothing was great or stuck out. 21 Savage sounds good in this first song, Many Men and I think Metro Boomin did a decent job with the production. The vocals in the background which is just 21 Savage saying random stuff after every line gets to be a little much and I don't love it that much, but Savage's flow makes up for it. Decent song. It's not that interesting though and I would have put it in pink, except Morgan Freeman is in the outro. And I love me some good old Morgan Freeman. (His voice is so soothing, it's crazy. Okay, I'm done now.)

Slidin is the next song from SAVAGE MODE II and this is pretty bad. It's just kind of all over the place both with 21 Savage's vocals and Metro Boomin's production. I also absolutely hate the chorus. I have no clue why 21 Savage sounds like that, but it's just so annoying. Yeah, this isn't good. But Morgan Freeman again! Dang! I think 21 Savage really likes Morgan Freeman.

So we take a quick break from 21 Savage because Megan Thee Stallion and Young Thug released a song called Don't Stop. It's very bad. Both artists sound fine and everything, that's really not my problem with it, it's the production. It's actually grating. It seriously hurts my ears and I find it really hard to listen to. I literally can't focus on anything else about the song with that in the background.

Young Thug also appears in this next SAVAGE MODE II song, Rich... um... yeah, that's all I'm gonna say. This is good. Savage sounds good and although Metro Boomin's production isn't exactly great, it's still great. This definitely isn't one of Young Thug's best performances though, in fact, it's quite bad. At least it's short. Still a decent song though.

So this next song is from 1977 and you have TikTok to blame for this. It's from one of the greatest albums of all time, Rumours by Fleetwood Mac and it hit #1 for a lone week back in 1977, it's Dreams by Fleetwood Mac. The funny thing is though, is that this song doesn't even end up in the 5 oldest songs list lower down because this song only spent 19 weeks on the chart on its first run and only 13 weeks in the Top 40. So this may stick around for a while before going to recurrents as long as it's still a TikTok trend. I'm not really complaining that this is here though, since this is good. I don't love Lindsey Buckingham's voice, but the harmonies are really well-done and the writing and the instrumentation is really good. It's so funny that this is squished in between Circles by Post Malone and One Of Them Girls by Lee Brice. It's such a strange combo.

Anyways, after that break, we're back to SAVAGE MODE II with Glock In My Lap. I actually really like 21 Savage's chorus here and I like the small pause that he does before he says the last word of each line. The production's also pretty good. Overall, this is definitely a good song and probably the best from the album.

Not gonna lie, I definitely expected this next song to debut at #1 this week, but instead, it only debuted at #18. It's Wonder by Shawn Mendes. I've already talked about this quite a bit in the past few weeks, so I don't really feel the need to get to in depth with this. In general, this is a good song. Cinematic, Shawn's voice works pretty well with it. Not his best though.

Drake is featured on this next SAVAGE MODE II song, Mr. Right Now and it debuts at #10. Yeah, this is good. Both 21 Savage and Drake sound pretty good in this and I like their voices together. The production's also good. Yeah. Good song, kind of hope it sticks around for a bit.

The highest debut from SAVAGE MODE II is next, Runnin and this is the second-worst right before Slidin. The chorus is also super annoying and there's this super weird sample that I don't like. Yeah, not good. Not much else to say here.

Um, so our new #1 is a remix of a remix. It's BTS' remix of Jason Derulo's remix of Jawsh 685's Laxed - Siren Beat. Which is to say, in short, Savage Love (Laxed - Siren Beat) [Remix]. Got it? Anyways, this is worse than the original. Whoever's singing in the chorus is slightly off-time which really bothers me and there's this BTS verse that I also don't like. It's still not bad, because it's Savage Love and I still really like that song. Am I glad this got the #1? Definitely. Am I glad it was the BTS remix? Definitely not.

Best Debut: Fallin' - Why Don't We

Biggest DROP!!!: FRANCHISE - Travis Scott/Young Thug/M.I.A. (-24): Definitely expected this. For it not being one of the best Travis Scott songs anyways, there was no way it was gonna stick around for very long in the top 10.

Biggest Jump: Savage Love (Laxed - Siren Beat) [Remix] - Jawsh 685/Jason Derulo/BTS (+7): I was considering moving my review of this remix down here, but I didn't... so now this is just kind of useless.

My Top 5 Picks
#5: Mood - 24kGoldn/iann dior

So a bunch of newer songs on the Top 40 re-entered On the Verge this week, because with On the Verge rules, only newer songs can be On the Verge. Anyways, so the songs are: ily, What You Know Bout Love, Kings & Queens, my ex's best friend and Said Sum. I hope What You Know Bout Love, Kings & Queens and my ex's best friend re-enter, but I hope ily and Said Sum don't.

Our first new On the Verge song this week is Bryson Tiller and Drake's Outta Time. This is a pretty good song. I think the production's a little uninteresting, but I think Bryson Tiller and Drake make up for it. They sound pretty good together. Decent song although a bit uninteresting.

We're just dipping back into SAVAGE MODE II for a couple songs now, starting with My Dawg. This is alright. Not one of the best, the production could be a bit better, but the piano line's good and 21 Savage's flow is fantastic here. He really just runs with the song and kills it other than the chorus, where I find his voice is a little too auto-tuned and slightly annoying. Still good though.

The last song from SAVAGE MODE II is Brand New Draco. This is only decent, not really good. It's kind of uninteresting and there's really no substance whatsoever to this. Yeah, not much else to say here.

BLACKPINK bring another single from their brand new album THE ALBUM this week with Lovesick Girls. Most of BLACKPINK's stuff is kind of weird, but I can't really say that I hate any of it. You guys never really knew, but I really grew into How You Like That after it left the Hot 100 almost two weeks after debuting and Ice Cream's always been good, even if quite weird. I'd say this song kind of falls in between those two. The production's actually just straight-up fantastic here and probably the best in a k-pop that I've heard. They don't sound too good in the chorus, but that's kind of my only problem with it. Good song.

Best Debut: Lovesick Girls - BLACKPINK

Baby, Just Keep Blurbin'

We also lost some Top 40 songs that didn't re-enter On the Verge, Midnight Sky, Rags2Riches, If the World Was Ending, Tap In and The Woo. The only one that I'm really sad about here is The Woo. As for the rest, I honestly don't care that much how well they do here.

We also lost On the Verge songs, being, forget me too, Epidemic, bloody valentineHawái, Pretty Heart, Breaking Me, Heather, 7 Summers and you broke me first. I expected this from the Machine Gun Kelly songs and Epidemic, as they debuted just last week. I'm kind of disappointed that Breaking Me didn't do as well as I thought it would and I expect you broke me first to be back. Pretty Heart and 7 Summers are country songs, so I don't care all that much about their runs and I'm very glad that Heather left.

Most of the moves this week were just songs dropping because of the album bomb although Lemonade, I Hope and Mood all jumped this week, which is good since I like all of them.

Bang!'s probably gonna stick around for next week because it actually gained in performance this week, so it would've actually jumped had there not been an album bomb.

...And, that's pretty much all I have to say for this week so I'm just gonna stop the blurbs here.

Hot 100 Exits from Past Top 40 Songs
Life Is Good - Future/Drake (#41) [#2] {38 weeks}
Chasin' You - Morgan Wallen (#46) [#16] {36 weeks}
Die From A Broken Heart - Maddie & Tae (#48) [#22] {25 weeks}
We Paid - Lil Baby/42 Dugg (#49) [#10] {22 weeks}
DOLLAZ ON MY HEAD - Gunna/Young Thug (#78) [#38] {17 weeks}
Smile - Juice WRLD/The Weeknd (#81) [#8] {8 weeks}
Over Now - Calvin Harris/The Weeknd (#84) [#38] {5 weeks}

Life Is Good was old, so I'm not that sad that it's gone. Same with Chasin' You. Die From A Broken Heart and We Paid lasted for way longer than they should have, especially considering We Paid left the Top 40 a good month or two ago. I think DOLLAZ ON MY HEAD debuted in the Top 40 literally the week before I started doing this, so that's why there's no opinion. As for Smile and Over Now, they were never gonna be hits and The Weeknd's gonna have to try a bit harder to follow up Blinding Lights next time.

Kwaheri, everybody! See you all tomorrow.

Last Year's #1: Truth Hurts - Lizzo [5/7 weeks at #1]

Chasin' You by Morgan Wallen re-entered at #40 this week. Not too disappointed, since it's good. But only good.

Kings & Queens by Ava Max actually entered the Top 40 this week with the release of her album, Heaven & Hell. I don't think there's too much to say about this song that I haven't already. Ava sounds great, the production's good, the lyrics are great. I guess all I have to say now is that I wish it the best in all its future endeavors and I hope it jumps even more.

Another Hits 1 song debuted this week, being ily by Surf Mesa and Emilee. I'm not too psyched that this is becoming a hit, as it's not very good. The vocals are good and Surf Mesa did a decent job production-wise, but the entire song is just four lines repeated over and over again, which isn't great. This is mediocre and I hope it doesn't jump any higher than where it is.

Woah. An AJR song just hit the Top 40 on the Hot 100. Let me say that again. An AJR song is in the Top 40!!! If you told me in February that this song would become a top 40 hit, I would not have believed you, but I'm SO HAPPY that it is. This is a fantastic song that deserves literally all of the success. It'll also probably hit #1 on the Weekend Countdown in the next couple of weeks. This is all and much more than I could've hoped for. WOOOOOOH!

Debuting surprisingly high at #24 is Said Sum by Moneybagg Yo. This isn't a very good song. I don't like Moneybagg Yo's voice and the production's kind of uninteresting. The chorus is very annoying though. He really doesn't sound good and I don't like the "what? Aah" part. This isn't good and I hope this doesn't jump and leaves soon.

At #3, we have a big release from Justin Bieber and Chance the Rapper, Holy. I quite like this song. The production's really cool and I like the slower groove that this song has. I think the choir was used really well here but the best part is easily Chance the Rapper's verse. He does a very good job. Bieber actually sounds pretty good too. Overall, this is a good song and I hope it's a hit, although I can definitely see this having a similar run to Stuck with U.

Best Debut: Bang! - AJR

Biggest Drop: Midnight Sky - Miley Cyrus, Break My Heart - Dua Lipa & Adore You - Harry Styles (-5): Don't care that any of these songs are dropping. Midnight Sky's forgettable, Break My Heart is old and I'm just glad that Adore You is finally out of the top 20.

Biggest Jump: Mood Swings - Pop Smoke/Lil Tjay & Lemonade - Internet Money/Gunna/Don Toliver/NAV (+6): Mood Swings faded on me, so I don't care that it jumped, but WOAH! Lemonade debuted low, then got the biggest jump two weeks in a row! Seriously hope it enters the top 10 soon.

My Top 5 Picks
#5: The Woo - Pop Smoke/50 Cent/Roddy Ricch
#4: Come & Go - Juice WRLD/Marshmello
#3: Dynamite - BTS
#2: Lemonade - Internet Money/Gunna/Don Toliver/NAV

Sam Smith comes up as the first debut this week with their new song Diamonds. This is probably my favourite single from their album that's yet to be released, Love Goes. The production here is fantastic. Sam sounds amazing, as they always do and did I mention the production? Yes? Whatever. It's really good. The bass is easily the highlight and it really shines here. Great song, but I'm a little disappointed that it debuted lower than I'm Ready.

Pop Smoke released another single from Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon and though What You Know Bout Love is technically a re-entry, I'm counting it as a debut. It really sucks that Pop Smoke was murdered, because his stuff is really good. In fact, this song's actually played on Hits 1 and I can see why, because the hook is pretty pop-like. I think this was a pretty good choice for the next single. I think it has one of the more weak choruses, but the verses are definitely solid and Pop sounds great. Definitely enjoyable, but not one of the best songs on the album.

The second duet by Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani debuts next, called Happy Anywhere. This actually debuted a spot shy of On the Verge when it was released, but it's here now. Both Blake and Gwen sound  good and they have some pretty good chemistry. The chorus is pretty interesting and although I think the production game could've been upped a bit, it's still a good song.

I'm gonna keep this review short, since I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to review my ex's best friend by Machine Gun Kelly and blackbear tomorrow. This is a solid pop-rock song. Both artists sound really good here and I'm pretty glad that this is Machine Gun Kelly's next big single. Good song.

Both 7 Summers by Morgan Wallen and 24 by Money Man and Lil Baby re-entered On the Verge this week after being a little lower down. I seriously don't care about either of these songs.

Making me like a country song isn't that easy a feat, but three country songs managed to do that this week. The second one is Pretty Heart by Parker McCollum. I don't love the guitar here and it could be a bit faster, but I like the chorus and Parker actually sounds pretty good. The production really swells nicely in the chorus and I like the lyrics quite a bit. So yeah, this is a good country song. It is a bit on the long side though.

P!nk really likes to collaborate with country artists. I believe this is her third? Anyways, Keith Urban and P!nk teamed up to make One Too Many for Keith's new album, THE SPEED OF NOW Part 1. Both artists actually sound pretty good and I think P!nk does a really good job here. The chorus is honestly pretty catchy and I think Keith and P!nk actually work pretty well together. Overall, this is a solid song. I hope it's a hit.

I'm also probably gonna have to review this next week, you broke me first by Tate McRae. Tate sounds really good here and although it's a slow song, I actually find it pretty interesting to listen to, which is really what you want in a slow song. The um... "drop" I guess you could call it is pretty good too. Good song. Hope it's a hit.

'Cause the Way You Hold Me, Hold Me, Hold Me, Hold Me, Hold Me, Feels So Blurb-y

We lost six songs this week, Savage, Die From A Broken Heart, Rain On Me, OK Not To Be OK, My Window and The Bones. I'm sad that Savage and Rain On Me are gone although I'm happy with the amount of success that they got. I'm really glad to see Die From A Broken Heart gone, since it sucks, I don't really care that OK Not To Be OK and My Window are gone, since neither of them were gonna be hits anyways and The Bones probably should've left a while ago.

Not too much happened this week except for really two things:
1. They switched to the Charlie Puth remix of I Hope, which... whatever. It was destined to become bigger than the original, it was only a matter of time.
2. Dynamite replaced WAP for a third week at #1! Yay! I'm very glad that it's such a big hit.

Both The Bones and One Margarita went to recurrents this week and I don't really care all that much for either of them at this point. As for Got It On Me, it's left before and I'm still sad that it wasn't a hit.

Last Year's #1: Truth Hurts - Lizzo [2/7 weeks at #1]

Our first entrant of the week is a song I reviewed last week for my Hits 1 post, Over Now by Calvin Harris and The Weeknd. I still don't like this song. I mean, it's mediocre, but I think the biggest reason that it is mediocre is because it should be fantastic. I mean, Calvin Harris hardly even tried with the production here. It's so boring I literally want to fall asleep every time I listen to it. The Weeknd's vocals definitely aren't doing it for me here, as I think the song was a little too high and slow for him. Super forgettable song for me, huge pass.

Both Midnight Sky and Rain On Me re-entered the Top 40 this week, due to their VMA performances. Although I'm kind of happy that the former is back, and very happy that the latter is back, I can't really picture either of them sticking around for much longer.

Our second debut is actually a good country song by Lee Brice, One Of Them Girls. I sincerely hope that this does well, since I actually really like this song. I'm not sure how, the verses are only decent, but I think Lee just kills it in the chorus. The production, the instrumentation, his vocals. Everything just falls together perfectly to make one heck of a country song. The writing isn't really anything special, it's literally just your typical country song, but everything else more than makes up for it.

Our final debut, coming in at #13, is Ice Cream by BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez. This song has definitely grown on me. The production's still kind of weird, but now I think it actually works pretty well with the song. Everyone here sounds good for the most part, and it's pretty catchy too. The only part that I still really don't like though is the rapping section. That part still stucks. I can't possibly see this staying in the Top 40 for much longer though.

Best Debut: One Of Them Girls - Lee Brice

Biggest Drop: death bed (coffee for your head) - Powfu/beabadoobee (-12): Good. Finally. This should've left the Hot 100 a long time ago, and I'm super disappointed in America for hanging onto it for this long.

Biggest Jump: Tap In - Saweetie (+10): Great. The only hope I can hold onto is that Billboard will switch to the remix with Post Malone, DaBaby and Jack Harlow, since that version is so much better, and it impacts next week anyways. Fingers crossed.

My Favourite Song Elsewhere: Got It On Me - Pop Smoke (#98)

Hawái - Maluma (DEBUT)
I Should Probably Go To Bed - Dan + Shay
I Love My Country - Florida Georgia Line (RE-ENTRY)
More Than My Hometown - Morgan Wallen (DEBUT)

A few country songs came back to On the Verge after leaving the Top 40 this week, Cool Again, 7 Summers and I Love My Country. I expect Cool Again to re-enter next week, and I also expect 7 Summers to re-enter after maybe a bit longer, since it'll start getting radio momentum, but I think I Love My Country is gone for good.

Our first debut this week is by Internet Money, Gunna, Don Toliver and NAV, and it's called Lemonade. This is a pretty good song. The best part here is easily Don Toliver's hook, and I really like the vibrato in his voice. I think NAV gives a pretty good verse, and I don't really love Gunna's verse. Other than that, the production's good. So yeah, this ends up being a good song.

Chris Stapleton debuts with his newest this week, Starting Over. I don't really like this song. I find Chris Stapleton's voice kind of annoying, and overall, the song's pretty boring. It doesn't really go anywhere, and the production's pretty much just a simple guitar line. Pair that with Chris Stapleton's voice, and it makes for a pretty bad song. I could literally fall asleep listening to this. Next.

Wooh! Glad I said next, because next, surprisingly making its On the Verge debut is Bang! by AJR!!! If you've literally read any of my posts, you know that I love this song. I've always loved AJR's over-the-top thing that they do with the production and stuff, and I find it works really well here with the carnival vibe that this has going on. The lyrics are about growing up, and if you listen to it, you can find it really makes sense and is really relatable. Amazing song. Group this with Bang Bang by Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj and BANG BANG BANG by BIGBANG, you have a pretty strong trio of songs with similar names.

Colombian singer Maluma brings his newest song, Hawái to the table next. This a ballad, and even if I don't understand any of the words, since I don't know spanish, this is still a really good song, and honestly just pleasant to listen to. Maluma's voice is really good, and paired with the pretty good beat and not that bad production, it makes for a very good song. I hope this is a pretty big song here, because I like it.

More Morgan Wallen is next, because who else, and this one's called More Than My Hometown. Literally just take everything I said about 7 Summers, expect saying it's a little more interesting, and you have yourself a review of this song by me. It's really uninteresting, Morgan's voice isn't good, and the production is uninteresting. Not much else to say here.

'Cause It's Over Blurbs

The other two songs that left the Top 40 this week were One Margarita and cardigan. I'm totally fine with One Margarita leaving, but sad that cardigan left as soon as I started liking it.

Wishing Well's bottom 5... :(

Kind of sucks to see Blueberry Faygo on its way out, but it'll probably make year-end.

Savage dropped to #30. I seriously thought that this would be a song that stuck around for a long time, but I guess not.

If the World Was Ending keeps jumping, and I have no explanation, since I thought it lost its momentum a while ago.

Mood is in the top 10! That's literally insane, I had no clue this would be such a huge hit when I first heard it.

Alright guys, let's take bets on how long Circles is gonna stick around for. My guess is about one more year. At this point, that's as reasonable as anything.

Blinding Lights is probably gonna become the next Circles, seeing how long it's been in the top 5 for.

The On the Verge songs that we got rid of this week are: my future, Said Sum, Why We Drink, I Called Mama, GREECE and 24. Seriously, I'm fine with all of these songs leaving for good. Also, HAHA my future is gonna make Billie Eilish fade to irrelevance hopefully!

Sucks to see all of these songs go, but they all made sense to leave. Really sad to see The Box go, but y'know, it's been here for a while know.
