A HUGE Announcement.

Okay. Here we go. I'm finally saying this.

Alright, so I've been teasing at this for a while now with the "Beautiful Poems", and in case you were intrigued as to what the heck I was talking about, which was the whole point of the poems, here you go. I finally have it for you guys.

Okay, let's start with a bit of backstory. Back in like, February or something, I was doing these Monthly Reviews, and if you were wondering whatever happened to those, it was because there just wasn't enough content in a month to talk about, and that was when I had first started my blog, so my reviews weren't that good either, so it just made it kind of a boring read. Will they ever come back? Probably not, but we'll see. Anyways, one time I got an idea to rank every song of the month based on performance. Now, the reason I stopped that was because of what I'm working on now.

Alright, so sparking from that idea of the monthly ranks, I decided I was gonna do the biggest year-end project that anyone's ever done. I decided that I would do something beyond anybody's expectations. So I settled on something that everyone would like and would have a fun time reading. I did a huge thing that I never expected to do.

Okay, enough rambling. I was just trolling you guys there. Hope you enjoyed that. ;) Okay, I'm going to rank every single song that debuted this year. Yes, I know. You might think I'm crazy. But I've been working on this since August. I know, I'm kind of commited to this. So basically how it works is that I did inverse points for every single week this year. I considered doing averages, then I realized there would be a lot of ties because songs like Power is Power would score better than, say Paradise because it would totally disregard amount of weeks. So, I can tell you, so far we have a song that passed 1.6 thousand points. I bet you can probably guess which song that is. Um, so yeah! I'll put the layout down below, and a form for extras which is basically any song that didn't make Hits 1. (No Hit-Bound dropouts please. I've already got something for that.) So basically, after the year is over, every week I'll add ten songs to the list. I also plan to do this for more years than just 2019. It's called the 2019 Ultimate Rank! Here's the layout for the songs.

So yeah! I'm hoping this is accurate enough to get the year-end list right and I hope you guys have lots of fun with this!

Last Year’s #1: High Hopes - Panic! At The Disco [7/8 weeks at #1]

Countdown Extra: Raising Hell - Kesha/Big Freedia

For our first debut at #42, we have Time by NF. This song is just amazing. Nate is such a talented person. He can sing and rap, which is a good combo. His songwriting is really good and relatable too. This song is no exception. The violins throughout add a lot to the song and the song as a whole is just really great. My only criticism would be the high vocals in the chorus, but whatever. This is a really good song and I’d love to see it do well here.

Next, at #39, we have Stack It Up by Liam Payne. This song is just really boring. It sounds a lot like Same Old Love by Selena Gomez, which is a horrible song, and there’s really nothing to talk about. I mean, come on. Even A Boogie Wit da Hoodie adds something to the song. That’s saying something.

For our highest debut this week, at #30 we have Teeth by 5 Seconds of Summer. I probably like this song more, because I heard it live. It’s still really good though. That guitar is amazing throughout the song. I love this rock thing that they’ve got going, and I expect this to do really well since Hits 1 loves 5SOS.

Best Debut: Time - NF

Biggest DROP!!!: Hey Look Ma, I Made It - Panic! At The Disco AND Beautiful People - Ed Sheeran/Khalid (-13): For Hey Look Ma, I Made It, get this. This is its first week all year not in the top 20. That is absolutely ridiculous and I couldn’t think of a better song to do it. For Beautiful People, I kind of wish it got a few more weeks in the top 5, but that #3 peak looks good on it.

Biggest Jump: The Hype - Twenty One Pilots AND Circles - Post Malone (+12): Both of these songs are great and I’m very happy to see them in the top 20. I wish them both the best.

My Top 5 Picks
#5: What Am I - Why Don’t We
#4: Memories - Maroon 5
#3: Circles - Post Malone
#2: Higher Love - Kygo/Whitney Houston
#1: Time - NF

My Bottom 5 Picks
#5: Mother - Charlie Puth
#4: bad guy - Billie Eilish
#3: Nightmare - Halsey

Also Available For Vote
Look At Her Now - Selena Gomez [1]
Kill My Mind - Louis Tomlinson [8]

For our first new Hit-Bound song we have a new one from Louis Tomlinson called We Made It. This is definitely better than Kill My Mind, but it’s still not that great. I mean, by no means is it bad, it just could definitely be better. The production is… okay at best. His voice is fine and everything. I don’t know, this is off my first listen, so it might not be that accurate.

We get our first of two Selena Gomez songs this week, Lose You To Love Me. This is the better one. For sure. Selena has a great voice, even if she didn’t show that in the past two albums and I’d love to see this be a hit. It’s a really nice ballad, and the production starts to get really good by the second verses. I love it when she layers her voice on top of itself in the last chorus. I don’t know, there’s just something about this song that really gets me.

Okay, so next is a new single from Kesha called Raising Hell. This one really sounds like the old Ke$ha, compared to her last Rainbow album. This one is bop. The beat is great, the chorus is amazing and yeah. It’s overall just a really solid song. I’m not sure why Big Freedia is credited when he adds essentially nothing to the song, but whatever.

Then available for vote, we have Selena Gomez’s other single of the week, Look At Her Now. Yeah, this one is worse. It’s a little more poppy and upbeat, but I think they kind of missed a mark here and probably shouldn’t have released Lose You To Love Me the same week, since that one is really good. The production here is really off and I just can’t get behind this at all.

Stack Blurbs Up

We lost three songs this week, Talk, Love Me Less and Small Talk. All three songs I’m okay to see go. Talk and Love Me Less were old and due to go and Small Talk was just meh.

What Am I should be doing better.

Higher Love hit a new peak!

Both 10,000 Hours and Nice To Meet Ya dropped this week which is weird because they’re both really good songs.

Goodbyes, If We Have Each Other and Señorita all fell 10 spots this week. That’s okay for IWHEO and Señorita, but not for Goodbyes. I wish that one did better than it did.

Good As Hell hit top 10 this week!

Only Human fell off of #1 after only one week.

Why are Who Do You Love and Sucker in the top three? I mean, come on, who decides this?

And our #1 is… Someone You Loved by Lewis Capaldi! This is a great song to have at #1 and I hope it spends even more weeks at #1! Although I do know of a certain breakfast food who would disapprove of this…

Alright, so the YouTube 15 ended last week, so that’s it! That’s the post! It feels kind of weird without the YouTube 15. Ah, well. All good things come to an end. I mean, even the countdown will one day and then this community will die, (I mean, it’s dead already, but…)

Hunger Games Countdown: Week of October 19, 2019 - Alec Benjamin (1)

Hey guys! I decided I was gonna start something new! Somewhere out there, from BrantSteele, there is a Hunger Games simulator. So I decided, I would make my own countdown based on the Hunger Games simulator. So basically, what I did was put all of the songs on the countdown into the Hunger Games simulator. Then they fought to the death and I ranked them. (As you can see below) Then, I did the same for Hit-Bound. So next week, say 5 songs debut. Then I will get rid of the bottom 5 songs this week and put in the top 5 songs from the Hit-Bound list from this week. If you don't understand, it's okay. You'll get it as we go. Also, if any Hit-Bound song leaves Hit-Bound, the bottom song on the Hit-Bound list the previous week will leave. Anything in between these: {} is which song they were killed by in the simulator. Okay! Enough talk, let's do this!

Last Year’s #1: Youngblood - 5 Seconds of Summer [3/5 weeks at #1]

Countdown Extra: Stack It Up - Liam Payne

Our first debut this week coming in at #22 is 10,000 Hours by Dan + Shay and Justin Bieber. Now, this song is already #4 on the Billboard Hot 100, so obviously this was gonna debut soon. I love this song. The songwriting is great and it’s just so sweet. The chemistry between Dan, Shay and Justin is actually really great assuming it’s an odd pair. This really shows how much Justin Bieber’s grown since that phase that I don’t need to mention. Hits 1 already loves Dan + Shay, so I know with Justin Bieber, this is gonna do really well.

This is hands-down the best song that we got from one of the One Direction guys. Nice To Meet Ya just shows why Niall Horan became the biggest one that went solo. It’s so catchy, and the production is really good too. His accent works really well with the song too. I feel kind of weird putting that in my review, but it’s true. Yeah, this is a great song and I’d love to see it do well here and everywhere.

Best Debut: Nice To Meet Ya - Niall Horan

Biggest DROP!!!: If I Can’t Have You - Shawn Mendes (-10): This song stayed at the top for way too long, so I’m very happy it’s dropping ‘cause I don’t think it deserved that much success.

Biggest Jump: Good As Hell - Lizzo (+24): It’s kind of nice to see this song getting success on its second week. I’d love to see this become a huge hit.

Wave - Meghan Trainor/Mike Sabath [1]

Our first new Hit-Bound song is Lewis Capaldi’s second single, Hold Me While You Wait. This is a really great song and it’s probably even better than Someone You Loved. It’s another piano ballad with great lyrics and he sounds really good. The chorus is really catchy too. I’m not sure this’ll do that well, because it just doesn’t really seem like the type of song that charts really well, but I still wish it the best. The end is also really great.

And for vote we have Wave by Meghan Trainor and Mike Sabath. We finally have a good Meghan Trainor song. I like the multiple voice tracks in the chorus, and wow. When Mike Sabath comes in, the whole song changes. And I love it. This is just amazing. I love their chemistry and the chorus sounds so good. I’d love to see this debut very very soon. The hook in this is really good too.

10,000 Blurbs

Kay, I’m really not doing 10,000 blurbs. We lost two songs this week, Look Away and Shameless. Look Away was never that good, so I’m happy to see it go. Shameless however, was pretty good, although not as good as Liar, I kind of wish it got more success.

Small Talk and I Don’t Care dropped down to the bottom 10 this week. I’m okay to see both go. Small Talk was only okay and I Don’t Care had a pretty good run.

However, lonely should not be dropping on its second week.

“DOP DA DOOP DOOO BRIIING ME HIGHER LOVE!!!”

Memories is really growing on me. I like it a lot now.

It’s good to see Circles jumping.

Beautiful People jumped 10 spots to #3 this week. I’d love to see this get to #1.

Speaking of our #1, after debuting at #31, Only Human only took three weeks to get to the top and I am very happy to see it there.

Psych! There’s still a YouTube 15! Just no Jenna Marbles. But… I’m gonna start actually reviewing it! Alright, I’m just gonna go over the ones I’ve never reviewed before. Let’s start with Jopping by SuperM. The main hook here is “'Cause when we jumping, it's popping, we jopping”. Yeah, it’s k-pop in case you couldn’t tell. This isn’t terrible, but it’s k-pop so it can never be that good. Yeah. I think we can move on now.

We have more Camila Cabello from her next album, called Easy. This is probably the best single she’s released so far. Her voice is actually really good here. I think whenever she steps away from the latino stuff, she should do more songs like this ‘cause this is really good. The instrumentation here is really great and the song as a whole is just really great and sweet. I’d love to see this debut Hit-Bound sometime soon.

I guess we have more k-pop now with Chicken Noodle Soup by BTS member j-hope and Becky G who never stops trending on this show. I don’t know why this song exists, the writing is horrible, the production’s okay, but you still can’t say it’s good.

So apparently, Lil Nas X isn’t a one hit wonder, since Panini has already hit top 5 on the Hot 100. I can’t believe I’m saying this about a meme artist, but I like anything he puts out. Old Town Road is great, and this is honestly pretty good too. I don’t get the writing whatsoever, but whatever. I think this might have a shot at #1, if Truth Hurts just ceases to exist, and yeah. That’s pretty much it.

Alright, so next we have Wanted by OneRepublic. Yeah, this is good. It’s probably not as good as Rescue Me or even Somebody To Love, but I’m glad these guys are still getting hits. Ryan Tedder has a great voice, and he’s a genius songwriter. This is a pretty solid song.

I’m not sure why Ali Gatie is a thing, but I guess after It’s You we get Used to You which is pretty much the exact same song. His voice is heavily autotuned and he’s not even that good with the autotune. I just can’t get behind this guy and I don’t really know why people like him. We can probably move on to the next one.

I have absolutely no clue how many weeks Señorita has been trending for.

I legit fall asleep listening to DOLLAR. Goodnight!

Why did The Black Eyed Peas do a song with J Balvin? I seriously don’t think RITMO (Bad Boys For Life) sounds that great. I haven’t actually heard the original song that this is remixing off of, but I bet it’s better than this. will.i.am doesn’t sound that bad, but J Balvin kind of ruins it. This is okay.

Guess That Song #1!

Hey guys! Today we're gonna be playing Guess That Song. Basically, I think of a song that made it to the countdown this year and I give you guys a hint each day until you guess it. It doesn't seem that hard, but it's not actually easy. If you have any guesses, post them in the comments! Here's your list of hints:

The artist for this song is a former group member.
The name of this song shares a name with an album from another Hits 1 artist.
The title of the song appears multiple times in a Chainsmokers song.

Week of October 12, 2019 - 5 Seconds of Summer (3)

5 Seconds of Summer (3)

I just went to a Chainsmokers, 5 Seconds of Summer and Lennon Stella concert! (That’s why some of my opinions on the songs have shot up) In case you’re wondering why this post is late, is because it’s Thanksgiving weekend for your neighbours up north. We had an interesting enough countdown with our biggest jump skyrocketing up to #2 after just one week on the countdown, so that’s always fun. Enough talking! Let’s do this! (Also, sorry about Callout Scores, I made a mistake this week. It’ll actually happen next week, sorry about that.) Turns out, the YouTube 15 was discontinued. They aired the very last show this week. R.I.P. We’ll miss you!

Last Year’s #1: High Hopes - Panic! At The Disco [6/8 weeks at #1]

Countdown Extra: Nice To Meet Ya - Niall Horan

Our first debut is actually a good song by Lizzo called Good As Hell. I actually like this compared to Juice and Truth Hurts. She actually doesn’t sound bad. This song is super catchy, I love the hook and I just love every part of this song. Especially the high note near the end. Great song, hope it does really well.

The second song this week is Higher Love by Kygo and the pre-recorded vocals of Whitney Houston. I think this song is really great and really just brings back why everybody loved her at first. Her voice is just so good. I’m kind of surprised that Kygo of all people would produce this, but it works making this his countdown debut of the year after a couple Hit-Bound dropouts called Think About You with Valerie Broussard and Carry On with Rita Ora. Hope this song does really well. *5 weeks in Hit-Bound, 6 weeks on voting poll.

So, did you want more mediocre Panic! At The Disco? No? Too bad! You get Roaring 20s anyways! This song isn’t bad, I’ve just kind of had enough of Panic! for this year. This song kind of gives off a Broadway vibe, which is what I guess makes this a bearable listen. I hope this leaves before the Frozen 2 song, ‘cause I’ve had enough of Panic!.

For our highest debut this week, at #32, we have lonely by Lauv and Anne-Marie. I’m gonna get some hate for this, but this is one of my favourite songs right now. I think both artists sound really great and it’s just really catchy. I hope this song does very very well.

Now I’m confused. Spyder didn’t announce five exits, so I thought that was it after lonely. Apparently not. As of writing this, I’m pretty sure it’s Goodbyes, but I’m not certain. (Note: it was All the Time.)  Anyways, for our actual highest debut at #25 we have Dear Future Self (Hands Up) by Fall Out Boy and Wyclef Jean. This is just a solid FOB song. Wyclef Jean surprisingly adds a lot to the song, and yeah. It’s just good, typical Fall Out Boy.

Best Debut: Higher Love - Kygo/Whitney Houston

Biggest DROP!!!: Love Me Less - MAX/Quinn XCII (-12): Yeah, this is due. This song really faded on me. This could leave soon. Please.

Biggest Jump: Only Human - Jonas Brothers (+29): Wow. I can’t say I’m surprised that this jumped up to #2, but I’m surprised. That’s a huge jump. I wish the best upon this song and that it beats Sucker for the most weeks at #1, ‘cause I mean, it has a shot.

My Top 5 Picks
#5: Trampoline - SHAED
#4: Beautiful People - Ed Sheeran/Khalid
#3: Circles - Post Malone
#2: lonely - Lauv/Anne-Marie
#1: Higher Love - Kygo/Whitney Houston

Sure, I don’t really like Ariana Grande, but damn! Don’t Call Me Angel with Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey is really great. Ariana and Miley’s verses are really great. Lana’s took some getting used to, but now it’s one of my favourite parts of the song. This song is so catchy and I’d love to see it debut soon and do much better than boyfriend did.

For our next Hit-Bound debut we have Dear Winter by AJR. I hope people like this song better than other AJR songs because they’re seriously not that bad. Sure Jack’s voice is a bit pitchy in some parts, and the songwriting could definitely be better. The clean version is so much worse because when it says “s*** I gotta meet your mom first” it just skips the beginning. And it’s very awkward.

Our next debut is such an amazing song. I mean, I saw both artists perform this live, so that probably has something to do with it. Anyways, it’s Takeaway by The Chainsmokers, ILLENIUM and Lennon Stella. Lennon and Drew sound great and have perfect chemistry. The production here is on point. Nick (A.K.A. ILLENIUM) probably had something to do with that. I love this song and I want it to hit #1.

I’m so conflicted with Lonely by Diplo and the Jonas Brothers. The start sounds like one of the Jonas Brothers’ unreleased songs off of Happiness Begins but then turns into something horrible when Diplo comes in with his “production”. I kind of wish he would give up this Thomas Wesley project because this song could’ve been so much better without that guitar. Also, it’s kind of short. Not sure if that actually matters, but whatever.

Our extra song available for vote only this week is Lights Up by Harry Styles which now makes 4 songs from One Direction guys in Hit-Bound. Now we just need ZAYN to make a song. This song is… odd to say the least. It’s not bad, it’s just a weird direction for Harry. I’ll give it more time and I’ll probably like it more, but for now, that’s all your getting. It’s a Monday and I’ve been working on this for hours.

Dear Future Blurbs (Blurbs Up)

We lost five songs this week. Harder, boyfriend, Dancing’s Not a Crime, Hate Me and All the Time. Harder was never going to do well, so whatever. boyfriend left just as I started to like it. Dammit, Hits 1! Dancing’s Not a Crime was due to leave, Hate Me also got screwed by Hits 1 and so did All the Time, but I don’t care that much about that one.

Trampoline needs to jump. Please.

Make You Mine jumped 16 spots. Um. Alright? This could probably leave soon.

What Am I jumped 10 spots. Yay!

Hey Look Ma, I Made It needs to leave.

Easier is still #1. That’s fine because it blocked Truth Hurts for one week before Only Human gets there.

Countdown Extra: all the good girls go to hell - Billie Eilish

Our first of five new songs this week is Circles by Post Malone. I kind of expected this to debut a bit higher but whatever. This is a great song. When I first reviewed it, I didn't like it that much because I thought it didn't work very well with his voice. But now, I think this is even better than Goodbyes. I love the guitar rift and I think it's honestly just a really good song.

The next debut is What Am I by Why Don't We. This song is just really sweet and I love the songwriting. All of them have pretty good voices and I just really love this song. Oh yeah! It's also Why Don't We's countdown debut! I kind of expected this to debut and I'm very happy the guys are getting some success. I'd love to see this do well.

Only Human by the Jonas Brothers finally debuted after way too many weeks in Hit-Bound. This is by far the best single from Happiness Begins. I don't know why this stayed for so long in Hit-Bound since Hits 1 stan the Jonas Brothers, but it's here now, and it prevented Cool from staying at #1, so that's always good. I hope this does somewhat well assuming it's actually charting right now.

Immediately after that, we have the worst single so far from Taylor Swift's album Lover; Lover. This song is pretty much The Archer done wrong. It's so boring, there's like no production whatsoever. I mean, her voice is pretty good, but that's about it. I would be happy seeing this flop.

Our last debut this week is Memories by Maroon 5. This song's not bad. Yeah, there's not much production here, but it's still pretty good. Adam Levine's voice is great and yeah. Just a solid song. I'd be cool if this were a hit here.

Best Debut: Circles - Post Malone

Biggest DROP!!!: boyfriend - Ariana Grande/Social House (-16): Right when I start liking the song, it drops down to the bottom 10. Come on. This just got screwed because of Hits 1 taking it off of the voting poll. I hate it when this happens to great songs. Ah, well. Farewell, good friend!

Biggest Jump: Graveyard - Halsey (+14): Yeah, alright. I can get behind this being a hit. I've kind of made my decision now, and I doubt it's gonna fade on me, so I'd love to see this hit #1. Definitely better than the other two singles.

Dance Monkey - Tones and I [1]

Our first new Hit-Bound song this week is a surprising collaboration between Dan + Shay and Justin Bieber called 10,000 Hours. You can really see just how much Justin Bieber has grown over the years since that phase, and I'm so happy for that. Dan, Shay and Justin have really great chemistry and I wouldn't be surprised and would love it if this debuted next week.

Normani's solo debut Motivation comes in at Hit-Bound entrant #2 this week. Yeah, this isn't my cup of tea. I liked her on Love Lies and Dancing With A Stranger, and even this, but I just don't really like this kind of music. I respect this song, and I wish it all the best and would be cool if it were a hit.

We now have three songs from One Direction guys in Hit-Bound. Nice To Meet Ya by Niall Horan is definitely the best one. I think Niall's had the best career so far. This song sounds really great. I'll probably be able to give it a better review when it debuts. Sorry about that, guys.

Unfortunately, we got more Billie Eilish this week with all the good girls go to hell. This song reminds me of bury a friend but with a bit more production. So in that way, it's a bit better. I doubt this is gonna be another bad guy, but I think it'll still do decentley. Unfortunately.

This next one Hits 1 picked up on a bit late. It's One Thing Right by Marshmello and Kane Brown. I love this song. I know some people *cough* Waffle *cough* hate it, but personally I find it to be really great. I love the mix between EDM and country, and I don't even find his voice to be that bad. It's charting and everything, so I hope it does well and debuts.

Yeah, we have another song available for vote only, and it's not that good. It's Dance Monkey by Tones and I. The vocals here are just horrible. The rest of the song really isn't that bad, but I can't focus on it because the vocals are just so terrible.

Only Blurb-an

We lost 5 songs this week. With You, Bad Liar, Old Town Road, Never Really Over and Here With Me. With You was never good, so I don't really care that it's gone. Bad Liar was great and had a really good run even if it didn't hit top 5. Old Town Road was straight up the biggest song ever, Never Really Over was okay and Here With Me was great and I was just starting to get tired of it, so great timing.

Harder fell to the bottom 5. I can't say I'm surprised.

Trampoline is jumping slowly, thankfully.

Dancing's Not a Crime and Love Me Less seem to hopefully be on their way out soon.

The Hype is really close to the top 20. I really want it to make it.

Look What God Gave Her seems to be on it's way to the top 10. Okay.

Cool fell to #12 this week! That's very good.

Call You Mine is at #5. Alrighty then.

Truth Hurts is #2. Please let this not hit #1.

Easier is #1. I honestly don't care as long as it's blocking Truth Hurts from there.
