Ranking Every Artist on Hits 1 Right Now's Biggest Song

Hey, so you've probably read the title and gotten a general idea of what we're doing, and yeah. We're gonna be taking the biggest song from every artist on Hits 1 right now (including Hit-Bound) and ranking all of those songs. The first part is a little tricky: What do we define "biggest song"? Is it best in chart-performance, or the first one to pop up when you do a Google search? Well, since this is a chart-based blog, I figured we would go by the charts. So using the Billboard Hot 100 as a reference, here we go! Oh also, they have to be the leading artist, not featuring.

Okay, so our first artist here is Sam Smith. His actual biggest hit is La La La with Naughty Boy, but since he has to be the main artist, it ends up being Too Good At Goodbyes which peaked at #9 on October 28, 2017. In case you were wondering, the next three songs were I'm Not The Only One, Stay With Me and Dancing With a Stranger.

Our next artist winds up being Dan + Shay, and it ends up being Tequila, because despite 10,000 Hours peaking pretty high, it did flop mildly quickly, while Tequila stayed for a while. So Tequila takes this one with a #21 peak on July 7, 2018.

Next up we have none other than Justin Bieber himself, and this is actually a weird one. Although Despacito and Where Are U Now are both higher than it in points, Sorry ends up taking the cake since he's the lead artist in that song. It has a #1 peak, on January 23, 2016.

Selena Gomez comes next, and this is where I start to question if my method is right. Because it has Lose You To Love Me at #9, despite it hitting #1. Anyways, I think it's okay though because it's very possible that songs just didn't get as many points in 2019/2020. So, Love You Like A Love Song ends up being her biggest hit with a #22 peak on March 3, 2012.

Ed Sheeran is next at bat, and I think it's pretty obvious which song it is. It's Shape Of You. I'm not even sure it was much of a competition at all. Thinking Out Loud was second, but I'm not sure it was all that close... like at all. Shape Of You has a #1 peak dated January 28, 2017.

The next artist is Khalid, and though Eastside is #1, again, he's only a featured artist. So instead, Love Lies with Normani ends up being Khalid's biggest hit with a #9 peak on September 8, 2018.

Powfu comes next, and since he's an emerging artist, and death bed debut literally last week, it becomes his biggest hit with a #59 peak last Tuesday. beabadoobee also comes in here, so they just have the same song.

Lizzo comes up next and I mean... it's Truth Hurts. Come on guys, if you thought it was anything else, I'm disappointed in you. It hit #1 on September 7, 2019.

This next super-obvious one is from Lewis Capaldi, and it's Someone You Loved. It hit #1 for the first time on November 2, 2019.

Ashe is up next, and it's another dead giveaway, as Moral of the Story spent one week on the Hot 100 at #71 on March 7, 2020.

Surfaces become our next extremely-obvious one, as Sunday Best is their only hit so far, and is currently at its peak, #62.

Demi Lovato comes up next, and I'm pretty sure it's obvious? I mean, if it's not this, what else will it be? Sorry Not Sorry peaked at #6 on November 11, 2017 and became her biggest hit, while her second one is actually Give Your Heart A Break. If I'm being honest, I forgot about that song.

SZA's up next, and her biggest solo hit is called The Weekend. I have not heard this yet. Other than that, she had What Lovers Do, All The Stars, Just Us, and now The Other Side. None of which are eligible. The Weekend hit #29 on January 3, 2018.

JT's is CAN'T STOP THE FEELING!. I mean, what else would it be? Mirrors comes in second, but CSTF! peaked at #1 on May 28, 2016.

Maniac. I mean, Conan Gray hasn't really released any other songs. It hasn't charted yet, but it's still his biggest.

Halsey's solo biggest hit ends up actually being her third-biggest overall. Both Closer and Eastside beat it out, but overall, Without Me is her biggest hit where she's the lead artist. It peaked at #1 on January 12, 2019.

Harry Styles has had a shorter career, but a good one nonetheless, having charted more than a few songs, but for some sick, twisted reason, Adore You is labeled as his biggest hit. WHYYYYYYY? It is currently at #7. This should not have beaten Sign Of The Times.

Now, Quavo tends to feature on people's songs, which makes it a little difficult to find a solo hit, but there is one. Just after Congratulations, Strip That Down, I'm The One, Pick Up The Phone, Good Drank, Portland and No Brainer is his first solo hit, by the name of W O R K I N M E, which peaked at #52 on September 8, 2018. I haven't heard this yet, and I can't quite say I'm very excited.

Tones And I is another super-obvious one, with Dance Monkey being her only charting song, peaking at #4 on February 29, 2020.

Lauv comes up next, and it's actually his breakout single that's his biggest hit, I Like Me Better. Only two other songs from him have charted, being i'm so tired... and Make It Right with BTS. I Like Me Better peaked at #27 on September 8, 2018.

All Time Low have only had one song to chart, and I haven't heard it. I'm pretty excited though, because I like what I've heard from them so far. Their biggest hit is called Damned If I Do Ya (Damned If I Don't) and it peaked at #67 on June 4, 2009.

Obviously, the Jonas Brothers' biggest hit is Sucker, which debut at #1 on March 16, 2019.

Alec Benjamin has only had one charting song also, being the Alessia Cara remix of Let Me Down Slowly, which peaked at #79 on January 26, 2019.

I was kind of hoping Blinding Lights would be The Weeknd's biggest hit, but it's still in the middle of its run, so it doesn't get that honour yet. In the meantime, that title goes to his breakout single, The Hills which hit #1 on October 3, 2015.

Despite Hits 1 treating Nice To Meet Ya like it came from heaven, Niall Horan's actual biggest hit is Slow Hands. It peaked at #11 on September 30, 2017.

Fall Out Boy got their biggest hit all the way back in 2005, and it's called Sugar, We're Goin' Down. It peaked at #8 on September 17, 2005.

hot girl bummer is already blackbear's biggest hit, beating out his only other charting song, Do Re Mi. hot girl bummer peaked at #11 on March 28, 2020.

Lady Gaga's biggest hit was actually also her breakout hit, which feels like a really long time ago. Just Dance with Colby O'Donis peaked at #1 on January 17, 2009.

JP Saxe hasn't had a charting single, but If the World Was Ending is his only hit, so that automatically becomes his biggest.

Julia Michaels, however, has had a few charting singles, but only one as the lead artist, that being Issues, which peaked at #11 on June 10, 2017.

Camila Cabello has had a pretty good career, but most of her hits have been as a featured artist, that being said, her #1 still has her as a lead artist. Havana peaked at #1 on January 27, 2018.

Cardi B also tends to feature on songs, with Girls Like You with Maroon 5 being her biggest hit, but since it's not eligible, instead we get I Like It as the song for this ranking, which peaked at #1 on July 7, 2018.

Taylor Swift has had a really great career, with millions of hits under her belt. But her biggest remains one of her earliest, as You Belong With Me becomes the #1, with Shake It Off just underneath. You Belong With Me peaked at #2 on August 22, 2009.

Doja Cat's biggest hit is Say So, since it's currently at #9.

Arizona Zervas is also an obvious one, since his one and only hit is ROXANNE, which peaked at #4 on December 28, 2019.

Up next is Billie Eilish, and I'd say this is another obvious one, since she's only had one #1 hit, being bad guy. And to no one's surprise, there it is as her biggest hit, with when the party's over at #2, and lovely at #3. bad guy peaked at #1 on August 24, 2019.

Post Malone is coming up next, and honestly, going into this one, I'm not quite too sure what it'll be, since he's had a lot. But alas, Sunflower is listed as his biggest hit, since it just spent all dem weeks in the top 10. It peaked at #1 on January 19, 2019.

At this point, I've realized that I skipped two artists, so we'll start off with 5SOS, who's biggest hit is none other than Youngblood, which peaked at #7 on October 20, 2018.

The other artist that I skipped was Kelsea Ballerini, and I'm really expecting this to be a song I've never heard. Now, I have heard her biggest hit, but I don't quite remember it. Peter Pan peaked at #35 on August 24, 2016.

Anyways, going back down to the bottom of the countdown, our last artist there is Dua Lipa, and at this point, I'm not sure if it's Don't Start Now or New Rules. It ends up being New Rules though, since DNS is still in the middle of its run, so it hasn't racked up enough points yet. In fact, both IDGAF and One Kiss are higher than it. New Rules peaked at #6 on February 17, 2018.

Moving on to the Hit-Bound side of things, we have Pink Sweat$. I've never heard of him before a few weeks ago, so I'm not sure what's going to happen here. But alas, he has had a charting charting single, called Honesty. It peaked at #25 on the Rhythmic Songs chart on September 7, 2019.

BENEE is next, and I'm pretty sure Supalonely is her only song, and it's currently on the Hot 100. It sits at #71.

I wasn't sure if Gus Dapperton had any other songs, and he didn't. So yeah.

Oh boy, the Black Eyed Peas are up next, and BOY do we get a gem here. I Gotta Feeling is there biggest hit here, with a #1 peak on July 11, 2009.

J Balvin is also one of those artists who like to collaborate with people, so with his #1 being I Like It, the fact that he's a featured artist (and it's already on this list) puts it out of the running, so instead we get Mi Gente as his #1 hit. It peaked at #3 on October 21, 2017.

Disclosure comes up next, and I'm not sure they have any solo hits. Lemme check... dang it. I completely forgot about Latch, that they did with Sam Smith. Anyways, that peaked at #7 on August 9, 2014.

Meghan Trainor's biggest hit is another pretty obvious one. ALL ABOUT THAT BASS is her #1 hit, with a peak at #1 on September 20, 2014.

Nicki Minaj though. Yet another artist who likes to collaborate with other artists, but it's not really a problem because Super Bass is her #1 song anyways, with a peak at #3 on August 13, 2011.

BROCKHAMPTON also only has one hit, being SUGAR, which peaked at #66 on January 25, 2020.

The Chainsmokers' biggest hit is back in their glory days, with their top five songs being from their first two albums. So Don't Let Me Down gets their biggest hit, with a #3 peak on July 16, 2016.

blink-182 is an odd one, since they don't get many hits on Hits 1, so their biggest one will probably be a song I've never heard. I was wrong, since it's a song that I think everyone knows, called All The Small Things, which peaked at #6 on February 19, 2000, which is our oldest song in this ranking.

Trevor Daniel, yet another obvious one's biggest song is Falling. I'm not sure if it debuted on the Hot 100, since it wouldn't tell me, but I think it's safe to see that this is his biggest hit.

Monsta X has only one non-charting hit, being WHO DO U LOVE?.

  5. All your life, no
You couldn't be mad about it
    You've been sailing, sailing oh
You couldn't be sad about it
And it's been all this time
And you haven't lived without-out it
You are shining, shining it seems though
That your life, you've found it
    No oh oh oh
    But you've never
No, you've never seen the rain
    No, oh oh oh
    But you've never
No, you've never seen the rain
    And it gets you down
    But that's okay
    You've been pushed 'round
    You feel the pain
    And when you fall
    Just lean on me
    'Cause you've never known
Never seen, never smelt, never felt
    The rain
Rain' never felt the rain, rain, rain
It's a cold dark night and
No ones tryin' to find ya
    You're just coasting, coasting by
'Cause nothing seems to mind ya
    No, oh oh oh
    But you've never
No, you've never seen the rain
    No, oh oh oh
    But you've never
No you've never seen the rain
    And it gets you down
    But that's okay
    You've been pushed 'round
    You feel the pain
    And when you fall
    Just lean on me
    'Cause you've never known
Never seen, never smelt, never felt
    The rain
Rain, never felt the rain, rain, rain
    And it gets you down

  6. You're broken down and tired
Of living life on a merry go round
And you can't find the fighter
But I see it in you so we gonna walk it out
    And move mountains
    We gonna walk it out
    And move mountains
    And I'll rise up
    I'll rise like the day
    I'll rise up
    I'll rise unafraid
    I'll rise up
And I'll do it a thousand times again
    And I'll rise up
    High like the waves
    I'll rise up
    In spite of the ache
    I'll rise up
And I'll do it a thousands times again
    For you
    For you
    For you
    For you
    When the silence isn't quiet
And it feels like it's getting hard to breathe
And I know you feel like dying
But I promise we'll take the world to its feet
    And move mountains
We'll take it to its feet
    And move mountains
    And I'll rise up
    I'll rise like the day
    I'll rise up
    I'll rise unafraid
    I'll rise up
And I'll do it a thousand times again
    For you
    For you
    For you
    For you
All we need, all we need is hope
And for that we have each other
And for that we have each other
    We will rise
    We will rise
    We'll rise, oh oh
    We'll rise
    I'll rise up
    Rise like the day
    I'll rise up
    In spite of the ache
I will rise a thousands times again
    And we'll rise up
    Rise like the waves
    We'll rise up
    In spite of the ache
    We'll rise up
And we'll do it a thousands times again
For you oh oh oh oh oh
For you oh oh oh oh oh
For you oh oh oh oh oh
