Hey guys! It's time again for yet another Weekend Countdown, but before we jump into that, I have three announcements. The first is the Blogger March Madness is now finished. Go check out where your favourite songs ended up! The second is that the 2020 Weekend Countdown Olympics started a year ago, so the 2021 edition will be starting up relatively soon. Countdown Extra: Lean On Me - Cheat Codes/Tinashe

I actually reviewed our first debut a couple of weeks ago for my New Music Friday post. By the way, check that out if you haven't already. The song I'm talking about is Higher Power by Coldplay. It's been a long time since we've had a Coldplay song on the Countdown, and I'm quite glad to have them back. They've gone for a bit of an 80s throwback song this time around, which I think works pretty well with their sound. Chris Martin sounds good here and the production's alright. It's slightly boring, but the last chorus makes up for that. I hope this becomes a hit.

Our last debut, all the way up at #23 kind of came out of nowhere. It's Best Friend by Saweetie and Doja Cat. Yeah, this song dropped out of Hit-Bound a few months ago, so I really didn't expect it to come back, but here we are. It's become a pretty big hit in the time that it's been gone, so I guess it kind of makes sense that Hits 1 brought it back, but it's still kind of weird. Anyways, this song grew on me since it first debuted Hit-Bound. I still don't love Saweetie here, and there could be more production, but Doja Cat delivers a really great verse. Yeah, I'm fine that this is here.

Best Debut: Higher Power - Coldplay

Biggest Drop: Overdrive - Conan Gray (-15): Aw, I was kind of hoping that this song would stick around for a bit longer. I'm glad it hit #1, but I still think that it deserved more than one week there.

Biggest Jump: Kiss Me More - Doja Cat/SZA (+11): This song's now in the top 10, and I don't really care about it, so I'm fine that it's here.

We have yet another TikToker trying to make music this week, as Bella Poarch releases her first song this week, Build a B****. I've concluded one thing from listening to songs by Dixie D'Amelio, LILHUDDY, Addison Rae and now Bella Poarch. TikTokers aren't great songwriters. I kind of get the message here, but it was executed pretty strangely. Bella Poarch is a fine singer, but the production here is kind of weird and I don't like the Melanie Martinez-esque singing after the chorus. It's weird. I'd rather not have this on the Countdown.

It's been a while since Cheat Codes have given us a song. I believe the last time they showed up on Hits 1 was with their remix of U2's Love Is Bigger Than Anything In Its Way. But today, they return with their new song, Lean On Me with Tinashe. I'm gonna be honest, I forgot that there was a singer in Cheat Codes. I think him and Tinashe have pretty good chemistry here and their voices fit pretty well together. The chorus is pretty catchy too, and while the production is slightly chill, I still think it's good. Overall, this is just a really solid song and I'm glad that it's here.

Remember jxdn from his Hit-Bound dropout last year Angels & Demons? Well, he returns this week as a feature on Nessa Barrett's new song, la di die. This song's fine. Nessa Barrett sounds pretty good, but I've never been a huge fan of jxdn's voice. Yeah, I don't have much else to say here, the instrumentation's fine and the song's catchy enough.

We had a few Hit-Bound dropouts this week, The Business, Track Star and I'm not Pretty. The Business was always bad, so I'm very happy that it's gone. Track Star was pretty forgettable so I don't care that it's gone and I'm 99% sure that I'm not Pretty was only on Hit-Bound last week so that they could play the Bebe Rexha remix.

You've Got a Higher Blurb-er

Our two Countdown exits this week were Calling My Phone and willow. I never expected Calling My Phone to do well and I'm actually surprised that it debuted in the first place, so I'm not disappointed that it's gone. As for willow, it had a good run here and I'm happy that it hit #1 for four weeks in a row.

Treat People With Kindness looks like it only has one or two weeks left on the Countdown. This will be the first time in a while that we haven't had a One Direction member on the Countdown (Yes, I have the exact number, but I'm withholding that information until it happens).

The Eulogy of You and Me is now in the top 15, which is really surprising. I never expected this to do well at all, but I'm not exactly disappointed.

Beautiful Mistakes is now at #11, which took way too long, but it's here now, so that's good.

Ay, Follow You's at #9! I really hope that this hits #1 soon and I definitely think it will.

But for now, our new #1 is Mr. Perfectly Fine. I'm perfectly fine with this being at #1 and I'd like to see it stay for at least a couple more weeks.
