Countdown Extra: Psycho - Dixie/Rubi Rose

Our first debut comes from a song that left Hit-Bound last week, Motley Crew by Post Malone. This song's fine. I definitely like it less than all of the Hollywood's Bleeding singles, but it's still solid. It has a bit of a darker vibe, which I find really cool, but my main issue with it is that Post Malone doesn't sound that good in the chorus. I don't know why, because usually, he sounds great. The song's also kind of forgettable.

Conan Gray scores his fourth song on Hits 1 this week, with People Watching at #25. This is pretty much a much better version of Heather. Conan sounds great throughout, the production's a lot more interesting, and although the chorus is a little less catchy than Heather's, this song is still good. My only issue with it is that it gets a little boring at times, which sucks, because I really want to like this song. Oh well.

Camila Cabello has a brand-new song that debuts this week at #22. It's called Don't Go Yet and it's quite good. It has a very prominent latino vibe, which is really cool and works really well with her voice. The chorus is super catchy and upbeat, and I really like it. My only issue with it is that it gets kind of forgettable, and I struggle to remember what most of the song sounds like.

Biggest Drop: WANNA BE - jxdn/Machine Gun Kelly & Love Again - Dua Lipa (-3): I don't really care that WANNA BE's dropping, and for Love Again, I would be disappointed, but it's only three spots.

Biggest Jump: Saturday - Twenty One Pilots (+5): Ayy, nice! I'd really love to see this become a hit (which I think it might, because it's actually gaining elsewhere).

We have a brand-new song from Anne-Marie and Little Mix debuting Hit-Bound this week. It's called Kiss My (Uh Oh) and it's a bop. The chorus is amazing and super catchy, the production's great, everybody here sounds great, and literally my only nitpick about this song is that it's hard to distinguish between Anne-Marie and Little Mix's voices. That's it though. The rest of the song is fantastic.

Normani brings her second song as a lead artist to Hits 1 this week, with Wild Side featuring Cardi B. This song is pretty much just an R&B song, and I don't really think Normani's voice can sell me on it the way Khalid's voice can. I find most of the song boring, and Cardi B honestly doesn't really add much. I'd really rather not have this be a hit.

Welcome, one and all, to episode 3000 of "Where the hell did Hits 1 find this song?". til the end of time by a band called almost monday debuts Hit-Bound this week. I really don't know how I feel about this song. I really like the chorus, and the instrumentation's great throughout, but I don't really like the guy's voice, and the verses are kind of forgettable. Overall, I guess this is decent, but there's no way this'll debut the Countdown anyways, so It doesn't really matter anyways.

I was refraining from bringing this up until now, but how is Heartbreak Anniversary still here? Honestly. This is its seventeenth week on Hit-Bound. It's now the second-oldest song on Hits 1, after MONTERO, and it hasn't even debuted yet. This can leave now.

We also lost a couple of Hit-Bound songs, Fine Apple and JUST LIKE YOU. I'm really glad that Fine Apple's gone, because it was bad, but I'm honestly kind of sad that JUST LIKE YOU never really got a shot here. It's a good song.

Our exits this week were Way Less Sad, Cloudy Day and la di die. Even though Way Less Sad had been here for a long time, I'm still quite sad that it's gone. It deserved to hit #1 here. Cloudy Day was extremely forgettable, so I don't care in the slightest that it's gone, and la di die deserved more and shouldn't have left from so high up.

I'm honestly surprised that 90s Kids is still here, let alone that high up. I'm happy though, honestly.

Arcade's now a top 10 hit, which is great. I'd love to see it do well here.

So good 4 u has now spent nine weeks in a row at the #1 spot, which is the most since they switched the Countdown to 30 songs, and the most since Adore You's ten weeks. And the thing is, I don't really see this leaving the top spot anytime soon, especially since it just now topped the pop charts. If I'm being honest, I think that this has a really good shot at beating Sucker's record for the most weeks at #1 on the Weekend Countdown, and I'd love that.
