Mariah Carey (4)
Hey guys, so this will probably be the last Hot 100 post of 2020 that I'll actually get out on time, since I normally get my posts out on Friday and on top of already being busy with Year-End stuff, the next two Fridays fall on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. So yeah, I may not get my posts out on those two days, but they should come somewhat shortly after. Here's the exits for this week.

Last Year's #1: All I Want for Christmas Is You - Mariah Carey [1/4 weeks at #1]
So the first returning Christmas song this week comes in at #40, Run Rudolph Run by Chuck Berry. This isn't that good. Chuck Berry really doesn't sound that good and the song itself isn't all that interesting. Also, why is it called Run Rudolph Run when the line is "run run rudolph"? It just makes no sense.
So Ariana Grande's Christmas song Santa Tell Me makes its debut on the Top 40 this week (I think) and I'm really glad that it's here, as it's one of the best Christmas songs of all time. Ariana Grande's already a good artist and this song's honestly just really catchy and a lot of fun. Yeah, great song and I hope it does decently here.
I don't really feel the need to talk about the three Christmas songs that debuted On the Verge last week.
Anyways, our last entrant is On Me by Lil Baby at #30. This song just isn't that interesting and Lil Baby doesn't sound good. There's not much else to say about this, since the song's just kind of substanceless and I can't see this sticking around at all.
Best Debut: Santa Tell Me - Ariana Grande
Biggest Drop: Dynamite - BTS (-14): Aw. Whatever, it's kind of old anyways and it'll be back as soon as these Christmas songs clear up.
Biggest Jump: A Holly Jolly Christmas - Burl Ives & Last Christmas - Wham! (+10): For Holly Jolly Christmas, whatever and for Last Christmas I'm happy that it tied its peak from last year already and I really hope it enters the top 10.

Lil Baby scores another song on the Hot 100 this week, called Errbody. This literally sounds exactly like On Me except Lil Baby sounds slightly better and the production's slightly better.
Paul McCartney (of The Beatles)'s Christmas song, Wonderful Christmastime appears On the Verge this week. While I like this song, it's just really odd and hard to get behind. I don't know, it's just a very strange song.
An actual mainstream song, Whoopty by CJ debuts this week. This is alright. Overall, nothing about it is too special and it could easily just fade into the background as just another rap song, but all that being said, it's pretty good. CJ has decent flow and the production's pretty cool. Yeah, this is a good song.
The much better Kelly Clarkson Christmas song debuts on the Hot 100 this week. It was just released this year, but Under The Mistletoe with Brett Eldredge is so much better than Underneath the Tree. Both artists actually have pretty great chemistry here and despite Brett Eldredge being a country singer, he has a pretty big voice. Yeah, good song.
Both I Should Probably Go To Bed and B.S. re-entered this week. I couldn't care less about either song.
Best Debut: Under The Mistletoe - Kelly Clarkson/Brett Eldredge

Santa Tell Me If You're Really Blurbs!
So the Top 40 songs we lost this week were: ROCKSTAR, WAP, More Than My Hometown, Be Like That, Savage Love and Life Goes On. All of these will probably come back except for probably Life Goes On.
We also lost some On the Verge songs: Prisoner and the two Bad Bunny songs. I don't really care that any of these songs are gone.
Both Go Crazy and Blinding Lights were the only non-Christmas songs to jump this week. I guess Go Crazy's just gaining a lot in pop airplay and Blinding Lights is probably there because of it being named #1 of the year.
Not too much else to talk about. Next week should be pretty interesting though, as Taylor Swift released an album, but there's also all the Christmas songs.

What's this month's Hits 1 to Watch?
DeleteNothing for now. My guess is that they're trying to bring it back to calendar months rather than mid-month to mid-month, but I'm 99% sure that iann dior's gonna be named One to Watch the first week of January.
DeleteMariah Carey’s song all I want for Christmas is you is good but it’s I I don’t know how much weeks that song has been here.
